Process

A clear path from idea to launch

Five stages, each with a defined purpose and a clear outcome. You always know which stage the project is in, what is needed from you, and what you will get at the end of it.
  1. 01

    Discovery

    Understanding your business and goals.

We start by understanding what you do, who you do it for, and what you want the website to achieve. This is where we ask the questions that shape everything that follows.

    What this stage covers

    • Conversation about your business, customers and competitors
    • Review of your current website, if you have one
    • Goals, priorities and any technical constraints
    • Agreement on scope, rough budget range and timing

    Outcome

A written summary of what the website needs to do, agreed before any design work begins.

  2. 02

    Planning

    Defining structure, features and direction.

With the goals clear, we map out the site: which pages exist, what sits on each one, how visitors move through them, and what needs to be technically possible.

    What this stage covers

    • Site map and page-by-page content outline
    • Wireframes showing the layout of each page
    • Feature list and technical approach
    • Milestones, deliverables and review points

    Outcome

A plan you can review, so you know exactly what you are approving before design starts.

  3. 03

    Design

Creating a visual experience for your brand.

This is where the site takes shape. We design the visual system — colour, type, spacing and components — and apply it to real pages rather than showing isolated mock-ups.

    What this stage covers

    • Visual direction based on your brand and audience
    • Full page designs for desktop and mobile
    • Reusable components and interaction states
    • Iterative review rounds with written feedback

    Outcome

Approved designs showing how the finished site will look and behave, page by page.

  4. 04

    Development

    Building, testing and refining.

We build the site properly: responsive, accessible, fast, and structured so it can be maintained later. You get a working preview as we go, not a mock-up.

    What this stage covers

    • Responsive build against the approved designs
    • Content, forms and integrations wired up
    • Cross-device testing and accessibility checks
    • Review stage with fixes before launch

    Outcome

A fully working, tested site ready to go live — with the remaining items listed openly.

  5. 05

    Launch

Going live, with handover and support.

We publish the site, check that everything works on the real domain, and hand it over with the documentation and support you need to run it confidently.

    What this stage covers

    • Deployment and domain configuration
    • Post-launch checks across devices and browsers
    • Handover walkthrough and written documentation
    • Agreed support or maintenance arrangement

    Outcome

A live website plus a clear understanding of how to use, update and get help with it.

What we need from you

Projects go smoothly when a few things are ready early. None of these need to be perfect to begin with.

Your content — text, images and product information, even as rough notes.

Any existing brand assets you already own, so we can build around them.

One named point of contact who can answer questions and collect feedback.

Availability for two or three review points during the project.

Process questions

Common questions about working with us

The practical details people ask about before agreeing to start.

Usually one or two conversations, then a written summary you can react to. If your requirements are still unclear, we spend longer here rather than discovering the problem during design.
